Pelvic Pain in Newfoundland

Pelvic, hip, tailbone, or low back pain that keeps coming back deserves a closer look. We assess how the pelvis, core, and the rest of your body work together, and treat the whole person.

01Common Concerns

What's behind pelvic pain?

The pelvis and deep core are not an island. Pelvic pain can involve muscles, joints, nerves, scar tissue, and the way stress and daily habits affect the body. Our assessment looks beyond your symptoms to understand how your environment, background, and overall health intersect.

Pain at the tailbone or low back can involve the pelvic floor muscles that attach there. Sitting, posture, and the way you move through your day are all part of the assessment.

Pain at the back of the pelvis, the pubic bone, or the hips is common during and after pregnancy and with certain activities. Treatment focuses on stability, strength, and movement strategies.

Painful periods and pain that follows your cycle should be evaluated by your doctor. Pelvic floor therapy can help with the muscle tension and guarding that often come along with it.

Scar tissue from a C-section, tearing, or abdominal surgery can contribute to pain and restricted movement. Scar tissue mobilization and gentle, progressive exercise can help.

An overactive, tense pelvic floor can cause aching, pressure, or pain that is hard to pinpoint. Learning to relax these muscles, often through breath and manual therapy, is a key part of care.

02How We Help

How pelvic floor therapy helps.

We complete a thorough evaluation of your medical, symptom, and pain history and assess your posture, strength, range of motion, balance, and breath. Treatment may include manual therapy including myofascial release and massage, scar tissue mobilization, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, and stress and emotional health management. We treat the whole person, because that is where healing happens.
